I want to share my disappointing experience with ABC Supply at 3543 W 12th St, Houston, TX, to caution others who might be considering their services. A few weeks ago, I ordered a window from them, received an estimated time of arrival (ETA), and was assured via email that the window had arrived and was ready for pickup. Based on this confirmation, I scheduled the window replacement with my client. However, the day before the installation, I went to ABC to collect the window. After hours of waiting, I was informed that the window had never actually arrived at their warehouse. This caused significant inconvenience and additional costs, and the staff initially refused to provide a new ETA. They claimed it was not possible but mentioned that the window had been loaded onto a truck. It wasn't until I reached out to the store manager via email that they provided a new ETA. The window eventually arrived the next day, forcing me to reschedule the installation. When the window was installed, we discovered a manufacturer defect—water wasn't draining properly. I promptly reported the issue, shared photos, and returned the window to the store, only to face unhelpful responses. When I asked the store manager to help me investigate whether the window was indeed defective, his responses were dismissive: “I am not a windows expert myself… what are you expecting me to do with this situation…?” He also questioned why I had made prior replacement arrangements. While I did not expect him to be a window expert, I did expect a more constructive and empathetic approach to resolving the issues caused by them in the first place and the manufacturer defect. After seeing his careless approach and back-and-forth, I requested a full refund. The manager resisted, initially offering to refund only half the cost of the window—a resolution I refused. Having been a loyal customer of ABC Supply for years, I was shocked by the poor and inefficient handling of this situation by both the staff and the store manager. In stark contrast, I reached out to Grogan Building Supply in the Heights area and had an outstanding experience. They provided a quote within 15 minutes (unlike ABC, which often requires up to two business days) and helped me order the exact same window from the same manufacturer at $65 less than ABC’s price. I highly recommend exploring alternative suppliers like Grogan Building Supply.
